Global Women Asia Welcomes Andrea Phua to the Board!
Global Women Asia (GWA) is pleased to announce Andrea Phua as the newest member of its Board of Directors as the GWA Fellow Director.
Andrea Phua is Assistant Chief Executive Officer (Finance & Strategy Group) at JTC Corporation, Singapore’s lead government agency for industrial real estate. As an officer of the Singapore Administrative Service, Andrea has had a wide-spanning career across the government, serving in a variety of roles under the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Digital Development and Information. She holds degrees from University College London and the University of Oxford and is a former national athlete for ultimate frisbee. Andrea was a GWA Women in STEM Fellow back in 2024, when she led Singapore’s National AI Group.
In joining the GWA Board, Andrea will represent the community of GWA Fellows. This is a newly created board role that serves as a key liaison to the global alumni community and ensures alumni perspectives are reflected in the organization’s work.
“Andrea is a prime example of the ever-growing number of engaged alumni Fellows who amplify the impact and reach of GWA's globally-minded community. As well as bringing the valuable perspective of alumni Fellows to the Board, Andrea brings nearly two decades of experience earned via a variety of high level roles with the Singaporean Government which will elevate our strategic planning and execution." remarked Emily Chew, a GWA board member.
“We are delighted to welcome Andrea to the GWA Board of Directors. Her experience reflects the kind of globally-minded leadership and values that Global Women Asia stands for. Her deep experience in international relations, her commitment to advancing the region on the world stage, and her personal dedication to lifelong learning make her an exceptional addition to our board,” stated Eyee Hsu, another GWA board member.
GWA is thrilled to have Andrea join our Board of Directors, and we look forward to strengthening our fellow alumni community and continuing to grow our impact globally.
